A new article by Youssef Mnaili, GIAS Fellow published in Politics & Society
The Institute for Advanced Study at CEU welcomes the news of the recent publication written by Youssef Mnaili, GIAS Fellow. Dr. Mnaili, who has been resident at IAS CEU in the 2022/23 academic year, is currently spending his 2nd year of the GIAS fellowship at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research (WiSER) in Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Mnaili is also the main organizer of the workshop Competence, Loyalty, and Control: Indirect Governance of Violence, Economy, and Religion in Africa, which is scheduled to take place in Johannesburg July 24-25. gathering numerous outstanding scholars from African and European universities, an event organized with the financial support of OSUN.
Mnaili was also a speaker at the workshop Intermediaries and Governance in Africa that was co-organized last month by the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) and WiSER (see image below).
The Institute congratulates Dr. Youssef Mnaili on his achievements and the progress of his research project, The Political Dynamics of Settlement Projects: The Central State – Settler Relation in Israel and South Africa which he is working on during his GIAS Fellowship.
