IAS alumni Oksana Maksymchuk and Max Rosochinsky won the MLA Translation Prize

The Modern Language Association`s nineteenth Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for a Translation of a Literary Work has been awarded to IAS alumna, Oksana Maksymchuk, former Writer in Residence at IAS CEU in 202-2021, currently visiting lecturer for English at the University of Chicago; and IAS CEU alumnus, Max Rosochinsky, former Junior Thyssen Fellow at IAS CEU in 2019-2020, for their translation of Marianna Kiyanovska’s

The Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University supported by the Open Society University Network’s Threatened Scholars Integration Initiative propudly welcomes its new VUIAS Fellows in Academic Year 2023-2024. Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study was founded in 2023 by the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin in cooperation with partner institutions from the US, Europe and Ukraine.

Statement in Support of Zoltán Ádám

We, members of the CEU Democracy Institute, the CEU Institute for Advanced Study and the Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives, express our solidarity with Dr. Zoltán Ádám, recently dismissed from his position as associate professor of economics at Corvinus University.

In refusing to examine a student who had not met the necessary requirements earlier this year, Dr. Ádám did the right thing.
