"Seven Basic Emotions in Wartime" by Asmati Chibalashvili, VUIAS fellow

IAS CEU is proud to share the recording of the performance "Seven Basic Emotions in Wartime," featuring musical pieces composed by Asmati Chibalashvili, VUIAS fellow. The performance took place during the event "Wartime Reflections", a project initiated by her in cooperation with the Ukrainian Association “Unity” (ЄДНІСТЬ) and realized with the support of the Civic Engagement, Arts and Culture Unit.

The Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University congratulates Syeda Masood, GIAS Fellow at IAS CEU, on winning Best Graduate Student Paper award from American Sociological Association's section on Global and Transnational Sociology for her article "Encountering the Global Color Line: Racialized Afghan Identity in Occupied Afghanistan."

IAS alumna, Oksana Maksymchuk`s debut English-language poetry collection is out now

The Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University would like to congratulate Oksana Maksymchuk, IAS CEU alumna of academic year 2020-2021, on the publication of her debut English-language poetry collection Still City: Diary of an Invasion (Carcanet Press, 2024.)

Her poem, "Rocket in the Room" has been selected as The Guardian's poem of the week.

IAS CEU Mourns the Loss of its Former Fellow Alek Popov

It is with an extremely heavy heart that the Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University must share the sad news of the loss of our esteemed and loved former fellow Alek Popov. Alek was a Writer in Residence at IAS CEU in 2019-2020, while he was working on his last novel, Mission Turan.
