This project undertakes a comparative doctrinal and normative analysis of posthumous reproduction in Ukraine and selected EU jurisdictions. It examines the legal treatment of gametes and embryos post mortem, the attribution of parental status, and the succession rights of posthumously conceived children. Engaging with European Court of Human Rights case law, national jurisprudence, and doctrinal scholarship, the study explores tensions between reproductive autonomy, consent, and the protection of family and inheritance rights. Ukrainian law is critically assessed within the broader European biolaw discourse to identify regulatory lacunae. Collaboration with CELAB will integrate bioethical perspectives, informing a coherent regulatory model for Ukraine. The project aims to equip Ukrainian legal professionals with comparative insights and deliver policy recommendations, contributing both to academic scholarship and to legislative reform toward greater European harmonization.
