The half day workshop provides new insights into the history of demographic discourses in the framework of understanding interactions between national discourses in a hierarchically understood space. This allows reconfiguring ideas why and how certain themes emerged during the history of demographic thinking between the 18th and the 20th centuries. The workshop will combine various epochs and perspectives. It will combine global, regional and local perspectives in order to see some of the interactions between various discourses and will introduce some specific periods and specific countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
